Top 10 Women Mentors in Engineering

Updated: Oct 29

Mentorship is one of the most powerful ways for professionals to advance their careers and for organizations to optimize. For professionals in fast-growing, high-wage industries such as engineering, mentorship is essential – particularly for communities that have been historically underrepresented in those fields.

Entering science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and science (STEAM) fields has become more accessible for women in recent decades. In 1970, for example, only 8% of STEAM workers were women, compared to 27% in 2021, according to the United States Census Bureau (Source).

However, women still face challenges entering STEAM fields and advancing their careers. Women only made up 15% of engineers in the U.S. in 2021.

Mentorship provides solutions women engineers need to help achieve their goals, despite systemic obstacles. To make mentorship accessible for all professionals, Upnotch™ is free for all individuals to join.

Below is a list of 10 outstanding women engineers who are part of the global Upnotch™ community, and who are eager to connect and create change.
