Shannon Sharma, Upnotch Member, is a Speech Language Pathologist and Listening and Spoken Language Specialist at Foundation for Hearing Research: a specialized school for children with hearing loss and SLP therapy clinic. She also is the owner of Sharma Speech and Language Services, specializing in accent and pronunciation coaching for adults who are learning to speak English more confidently and effectively.
At Foundation for Hearing Research, Shannon brings forth her expertise by partnering closely with families of children with hearing loss who listen and speak using hearing aids or cochlear implants. Through her nearly 10 years of experience in the field and professional training and mentorship through Hearing First, LLC, she has honed her expertise in caregiver coaching, intervention for infants through young adults, consultation with school districts, and mentoring students and professionals.
With a passion for knowledge-sharing, Shannon frequently presents at local, national, and international conferences and has served as a guest lecturer at universities. She extends her impact by advocating for best practices in family involvement throughout a child's listening and speaking journey and sharing innovative solutions to overcome barriers to achieving this. Shannon also enjoys creating webinars and caregiver education programs.
Shannon's strengths-based coaching honed in supporting caregivers and adult clients is also reflected in her mentoring style.
